Comics
Graphic narrative is a great marriage of my two passions: comics and the news. My first degree is in Fine Arts, so when I was in j-school I started doing editorial cartoons for our weekly publication. They were a hit.
“Life on Sussex Drive” was published in The Hill Times newspaper in Ottawa.
The three other multi-panel comic strips, “JHR Adventures”, were published on the Journalists for Human Rights website while I was working for them in Blantyre, Malawi.
“Mayoral candidates change tactics” was in response to a shirtless jogger getting plenty of media attention after confronting Toronto’s Mayor, Rob Ford, who was running for re-election. More here.
